Spiking Intensification Week |
On the 5th December, Clementswood PCSO's marked the start of Spiking Intensification Week by stopping and speaking to females on Mildmay Road near the underpass, educating them on the effects of spiking and how to report this crime.
While spiking is not always linked to sexual offences, it leaves individuals, particularly women, vulnerable and feeling unsafe.
Therefore we need to treat spiking with the same seriousness as other crimes relating to violence against women and girls and encourage anyone who believes they or someone they are with has been the victim of spiking to contact police on 101 or 999. Spot the signs of drink-spiking by reading the below information.
